Report: Expanding reliability is chemical supply chain execs' top priority

Seventy-one percent of supply chain professionals in big European chemical companies consider boosting reliability as one of their top concerns, according to a LogiChem report. "The increasing importance of reliability reflects the pressure on customers to [minimize] inventory, which in turn places the onus on the chemical supply chain to innovate and invest," it said. Cutting inventories and making plans to capitalize on "massive demand" from Asia also were among the respondents' top priorities.
