Rising construction costs prompt budget cuts on Denver light rail line

Planners with Denver's Regional Transportation District have identified a least $113 million in cuts designed to help ease dramatically rising construction costs on the system's west light-rail line. Reductions include reducing drainage work to deal with five-year rather than 100-year floods. However, some expressed concern that the downgrade could result in high water levels in some rail stations during heavy rains.
