Dow AgroSciences recalls biotech corn

Dow AgroSciences is working with several agencies, including the USDA and the FDA, to recall some of its biotech corn seed lines after discovering the presence of minimal levels of plant-incorporated protectant Event 32, an unregistered biotech pesticide. Event 32 was found in three of the company's commercial biotech corn seed products distributed by its affiliate, Mycogen Seeds, which were planted in 2006 and 2007. The government agencies said the recalled products do not pose any health, environment, or food- and feed-safety risks.
