AMIC reacts to proposed changes to imaging reimbursement rates

The Access to Medical Imaging Coalition is questioning a report from the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission that suggests the formula for computing physician reimbursement rates for advanced imaging procedures be revised. AMIC said the report was based on an insignificant sample size and provided recommendations for PET, nuclear medicine and other imaging modalities not covered by the survey.
