Dial-up still on the line

EarthLink and NetZero are amping up their marketing for dial-up Internet connectivity -- both to retain current users and to lure broadband users who are looking to save money by trading down to the slower but less expensive option. Forrester Research analyst Doug Williams said, "It's a smart move, in my opinion, for them to focus on the value message," but notes that a recent survey suggests few broadband subscribers are considering dialing back their connection speed.
