Flu pandemic preparedness drill held at Philadelphia airport

The Customs and Border Protection Port of Philadelphia has conducted its first Avian Influenza response exercise at Philadelphia International Airport. The exercise focused on the initial actions that CBP officers must take when they encounter travelers exhibiting flu-like symptoms and on the proper quarantine procedures for birds in a passenger's carry-on bag. "This event provided a great opportunity to learn and improve both our plans and the way we work with our partners at the Philadelphia International Airport," a CDC expert said.
