Patient files suit against Conn. hospital for unwanted transfusion

St. Vincent Medical center in Bridgeport, Conn., is facing a lawsuit on the grounds that is administered a blood transfusion despite a patient's request based on religious grounds not to be given the procedure. The hospital has said that it should have followed the patient's request but maintained that "there was a proper medical reason for the transfusion."
