Rutgers will spend $500M on construction projects

Rutgers University will spend $500 million on 20 construction projects through 2011, school officials said. The plan includes $270 million for the construction of new dormitories. "As the federal stimulus plan demonstrates, infrastructure improvements are an important way to create jobs and lay the foundation for long-term growth," said Richard McCormick, the university's president. "On the state level, Rutgers can play a similar role as an economic engine across New Jersey."
