Eclipse Aviation says it will not oppose a legal maneuver designed to force a liquidation, but experts say the company's woes do not indicate more bankruptcies are on the way. "I do not associate Eclipse with what happened with the overall demand for aviation aircraft," says Michael McConnell, the company's president and general manager. "It's more a function of the global financial markets being very unstable." A spokeswoman for the General Aviation Manufacturers Association agrees. "We do hope this is an isolated event," says Katie Pribyl. "We don't see this as a slippery slope that we'll be heading down."
