Benefits of preventive mastectomy are limited, study shows

The survival benefit for women with breast cancer who have a preventive mastectomy on their disease-free breast is small, U.S. study data showed. Researchers said it also is limited to patients younger than 50 who were diagnosed with early stage, estrogen receptor-negative cancers.
