U.S. Bancorp CEO Richard Davis said he expected the economy to head more decisively upward in 2011 after treading water for a couple of quarters. In the next few months, however, Mr. Davis warned, more bank failures are possible and could be more difficult than previous collapses. Regulators have been able to find healthy financial institutions to take over those in distress, but that may not be the situation for long. "You'll find that there's no big bank to receive (many of) them," Mr. Davis said. "We'll pass on those deals."
