Senate may be close to deal on regulatory reform

Senate leaders were nearing a deal on a bill overhauling the nation's financial-regulatory system. The bipartisan agreement faced one key hurdle Thursday night: whether to create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency. Senate banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., and top committee Republican Sen. Richard Shelby met to discuss the bill Wednesday night.
