BASF sees 18% increase in fiscal Q4 earnings

BASF announced that its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings before interest and taxes climbed 18% to $2.38 billion. This was slightly below analysts' estimates and was due to weakness in its performance products division. However, sales increased by 8.7%. For 2013, BASF aims to improve sales in all its operating segments.
