Visitors to Hawaii are being met with higher room rates as tourism demand continues to rise and more budget hotels either close down or are renovated into higher-end properties, this feature says. Data from STR indicate a 12% rise in Hawaii's average hotel rate in January compared with last year, with rates on Oahu rising 15%.
