Innovative formwork to be used for Seattle light-rail station project

A "unique framing approach" will be used to speed up the $110 million, below-grade construction of the Capitol Hill Station in Seattle. Turner Construction will employ a "collapsible" steel truss system that will be "lowered into the shaft and expanded to form the framework for the station's concrete walls and floors." Once the poured concrete is dry, the framework will be collapsed and moved to form the next section.
