Russian official rejects foreign criticism of pending anti-gay bill

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this week that his country is party to no international agreements that would prohibit it from enacting a ban on "homosexual propaganda." Legislation that would impose penalties on those convicted of exposing minors to pro-LGBT messages is likely to pass in the Russian parliament, but Dutch officials contend the law may violate Russia's international obligations regarding human rights.
