Tech makes financial sector more appealing to VCs

The financial services sector is shifting from its past foundation on human capital and human relationships, and toward a model based on technology and automation, writes Karl Antle. That's making the industry far more appealing to venture capitalists, because it eliminates many of the risks that dogged previous financial-sector investments. "Technology scales, technology can't leave the company (unless you sell it), and technology doesn't negotiate for a higher bonus," Antle notes.
