Kaiser Permanente offers incentives for construction businesses

Kaiser Permanente says it wants to award at least 5% of its construction-related work to minority- and women-owned businesses by 2008, and the company is offering incentives to help bring the companies on board. The efforts include offering business counseling, project mentoring and a waiver of the bonds usually required to cover costs if a contractor does not complete a job.
