New York City to launch patient-tracking system

New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has announced that the city will soon supply doctors with software to track patients' medical care. The electronic tracking system, developed with $30 million from the city and about $30 million from the state and federal governments, will integrate a patient's medical information, alert doctors and allow data-sharing among doctors.
