Parent raises cash to reinstate software program

A computer program designed to help children with learning disabilities improve their reading skills will return to a New York school after budget cuts required the school to abandon upgrades to the software more than two years ago. Parent Lucy Accardo raised more than $10,000 from local politicians to reinstate Fast ForWord, which she believes will turn around her daughter's struggles with reading.
