Entrepreneur aims to "restore the brand" at Eclipse

Despite long odds, aerospace executive Phil Friedman said Thursday that he will bid on the assets of Eclipse Aviation to revive the bankrupt company. "I have been studying the Eclipse situation for over a year," said Friedman, CEO of Harlow Aerostructures. "I believe there is an excellent business opportunity going forward if managed correctly." Friedman said that in addition to completing seven new aircraft on the production line, the company will focus on updating the existing fleet of more than 250 Eclipse 500s to meet certification standards, an effort that will help "restore the brand."
