Social networks as gaming platforms

Playfish CEO Kristian Segerstrale is re-imagining Facebook as a casual gaming platform. The developer's games, including "Who Has the Biggest Brain?" have attracted wide social-networking audiences. In a Q-and-A, Segerstrale notes that social networks bestow particular requirements on game functionality, noting, "if it's not designed to be played socially or isn't free to play, it won't work."
