Qualcomm bets on augmented-reality apps for mobile chip growth

Qualcomm says it will make an aggressive investment in developing processors for augmented-reality applications, which give users who point their mobile devices at consumer goods instant access to games, advertisements, how-to guides and other content. "This is something that wasn't possible until we had gigahertz-class processors," Qualcomm's Jay Wright said.
