E-books sales drive a surge in digital revenues at Pearson

Book publisher and education-services firm Pearson said it saw digital revenue surge 18% in 2011, thanks largely to a doubling of e-book sales at its Penguin subsidiary. Penguin, which reported sales of 50 million applications and e-books since 2008, said electronic titles now make up 12% of its global sales, and 20% of its sales in the U.S.
