SEC's chief accountant hints at move to IFRS

The Securities and Exchange Commission is nearing a decision on whether to adopt international accounting standards in the U.S., according to SEC Chief Accountant James Kroeker. "I'm hopeful that we're on track for a few months' time," he said in a speech last month. The transition would involve the Financial Accounting Standards Board endorsing international financial standards for use by U.S. companies.
