Study: U.S. would benefit from opening more federal land to drilling

Opening up more federal land to drilling could produce an extra 10 million barrels of oil a day by 2030, according to an American Petroleum Institute-commissioned study. An increase in drilling would also generate $800 billion in tax revenue and 1.4 million U.S. jobs, the study added. "It's time our national energy policy let America take advantage of this opportunity," said Jack Gerard, API's president and CEO.
