Verizon: Most subscribers still use 3G network

Only 5% of Verizon Wireless' subscriber base has converted to the carrier's Long-Term Evolution network, Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo told an investor conference Monday, saying the company had put much of its focus last year on signing customers to its iPhone 4S, which offers only 3G services. He said Verizon would concentrate this year on moving users to its 4G network. Shammo also said Verizon would likely introduce shared data plans among families around midyear.
