Commentary: Swaps futures are coming into their own

After years of languishing, swaps futures are raising their profile, write Matt Samelson and Sean Owens of Woodbine Associates. "Market participants have begun turning to futures as ... alternatives for generic risk transfer," Samelson and Owens write, with Eris Exchange and CME Group contracts available. However, "[w]e do not see either contract replacing the swap market," they note.
