European lawmakers support U.S.-EU trade pact

Agreeing on a far-reaching free-trade pact between the U.S. and the EU won't be easy but is achievable now that the political will is present to get the job done, European economic experts say. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister David Cameron have publicly supported a trans-Atlantic free-trade agreement. The deal is estimated to raise the gross domestic product 0.5% for the EU and the U.S.
