Study suggests need for more EHR reviews to address clinical errors

A study in JAMA Internal Medicine calls for more EHR reviews to help providers prevent breakdowns during consultations that lead to diagnostic errors. Urinary tract infection and pneumonia were among the frequently misdiagnosed diseases, according to the study, which reviewed cases from a large Department of Veterans Affairs facility and integrated private health care system.
