California, Massachusetts caught up in stem cell research debate

Biotech industry leaders in both states have been startled by opposition from unexpected sources: litigation from conservative groups in California, and a weakening of support for some stem cell research from Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. California leaders still hope the Massachusetts governor's shift will prompt top scientists to leave the state and move to the West Coast.
