Qualcomm CEO takes wait-and-see approach to Nokia-Sanyo JV

Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs yesterday refused to predict how Nokia's deal to make CDMA-standard phones with Sanyo would affect Qualcomm's fortunes, or whether Nokia was reducing its commitment to CDMA. "There have been people who have come to me and [said] this [joint venture] signals that Nokia is getting out of the business," Jacobs said. "Rather than listen to what everyone is saying, we're going to see how people are going to act."
