Supplement study conclusions not all negative

Despite a recent study that concluded glucosamine and chondroitin lacked overall benefit as arthritis treatments, some health care professionals still see the supplements as valuable alternatives to pain medicines they consider risky. Even the researchers who conducted the National Institutes of Health-backed study note the supplements were beneficial in patients with moderate to severe pain, when compared with Celebrex or a placebo.
