Biloxi council delays adopting elevation requirements

The Biloxi, Miss., City Council says it will delay adopting FEMA's building elevation requirements until the federal government makes them mandatory. Adopting the the elevation code is required for communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program. Observers noted that homeowners could be without flood insurance if the council does not adopt the requirements.
