Researcher criticizes Irish hospitals over cord-blood access

A stem cell researcher criticized Irish maternity hospitals for failing to provide access to umbilical cord blood. "We provide a storage facility for cord blood when it is a recommended course of action from a treating physician," a spokeswoman for the Blood Transfusion Service Board said.
