California agency will put $38.8M toward building HIE

The California Health and Human Services Agency will use $38.8 million to set up a statewide health information exchange, as part of the more than $100 million total funding awarded to the state under the stimulus law. The HIE funding provides the state with a foundation "to fulfill the vision of having information safely and securely reach all corners of the healthcare delivery system and individuals," a CHHSA official said.
