Downturn prompts innovation in travel industry, Amadeus says

The economic downturn might open innovation in the travel industry, according to Ian Wheeler, group vice president of marketing and distribution for Amadeus. In a study "The Amateur-Expert Traveler," Amadeus describes three trends influencing the travel industry: An increase in expert customers, technological trip experience and the growth of "niche" travel.
