Mass. state legislator urges preservation of special-education funding

Massachusetts state Rep. David P. Linsky argues in this opinion piece against a 41% cut in state funding for special education proposed by Gov. Deval Patrick. Linsky warns that with stimulus money used to mitigate the cuts this year soon will be unavailable, and funding for special education must be restored to avoid shortchanging the growing number of students with disabilities across the state.
