Opinion: Wash. state lawmakers should make it easier to fire principals

A Washington state lawmaker has proposed legislative language that would make it easier to fire principals at struggling Seattle schools. Rep. Reuven Carlyle's proposal would allow principals to be fired for a "valid reason." Current law requires "probable cause" be found before a principal can be dismissed. A Seattle Times editorial supports the measure and says it should include schools statewide.
