Colorado is known for its cozy communities next to world-class ski resorts. Telluride is another to note, along with more well-known places such as Aspen. The Colorado mining town is a mix of locals, the privileged and a celebrity sighting now and then such as Tom Cruise and Jerry Seinfeld. "It's like Aspen was back in the '70s, but less pretentious," said Bo Bedford, manager at the New Sheridan Hotel. "It hasn't gone Hollywood yet." Dogs are welcome and people can get freebies at a so-called Free Box. Casual and dressy are in style.
