$1.6B project in Mass. may need to revise benchmark schedule

City officials may require a revision of the benchmark schedule for the $1.6 billion redevelopment of Quincy Center in Massachusetts after Beal/Street-Works, the entities behind the project, were unable to supply documentation that was due. The Quincy City Council would need to approve any changes to be made regarding the schedule included in the agreement. When the schedule was drafted a few years ago, neither party took into account all the "twists and turns" the project would face. "I would say we were heavy on lawyers and light on engineering," said James Fatseas, the mayor's chief of staff.
