Alaska's $4.3B Susitna dam project advances

Planning for the Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric project in Alaska is still in the preliminary stages, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has submitted a scoping document on environmental issues that need to be addressed in the project's environmental impact statement. The $4.3 billion hydroelectric project would take about six years to build and employ about 1,000 construction workers at its peak.
