Snack opportunities explored at NACS Leadership Forum

The final day of the 2012 NACS Leadership Forum explored the topic of increasing snack opportunities for convenience stores. Dae Kim, vice president of research for NACS, said more than 35% of impulse sales are of snacks; John Zikias, senior vice president of category management and supply chain for Thorntons, provided specific suggestions, such as placing snacks near beverages and selling fresh fruit.
