Volcker rule faces opposition from some regulators

The financial-services industry, foreign governments and other market participants have raised concerns about the proposed Volcker rule, which bans proprietary trading by large banks. They aren't alone in their opposition to the rule. Some federal regulators, such as Troy Paredes of the Securities and Exchange Commission, are questioning the Volcker rule.
