Duncan: Sequester will bring cuts to special education, Title I

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said in a press conference this week that there will be little room to mitigate the effect of automated federal budget cuts slated to start Friday, noting that funding for students with disabilities and who live in poverty will be affected. Title I will lose $725 million, and special education will be cut by $600 million, he told reporters.
