Report: Disasters should spur a review of catastrophe models

Disasters in recent years should prompt insurers to re-examine the fundamentals of catastrophe modeling as well as limits related to catastrophes and business-interruption coverage, a Marsh report says. In addition, events such as the Deepwater Horizon incident have led to significant changes in underwriting for the energy sector, the report says.
