ACC's Dooley: Right chemical regulation will help sustain chemical industry resurgence

The abundance of low-cost natural gas feedstock for U.S. chemical producers has created a flood of new investments that will give the U.S. "a sustained competitive advantage" for at least the next 20 years, said American Chemistry Council President and CEO Cal Dooley. With this advantage, "it is important for us to get the regulatory environment right so that we can totally capitalize on our new-found market advantage," he added. For example, the Chemical Safety Improvement Act would spur innovation and job growth, he said.
