Geriatrics group adds 5 recommendations to Choosing Wisely

The American Geriatrics Society published a list of five additional treatments or tests to question or avoid as part of the Choosing Wisely campaign. The recommendations include the need for drug regimen reviews and the need to assess cholinesterase inhibitor use among dementia patients as well as when to avoid cancer screenings, prescription appetite stimulants or high-calorie supplements, and avoiding the use of restraints in older patients with delirium.
