Hasbro's research helps it make toys that girls want

Hasbro sold more than $1 billion of toys for girls in 2013, up 26% from the previous year and a record for the company. That's due to a decade-long renewed focus on girl-targeted brands and new research on how girls play, analysts say. "The girls business is the strongest part of the company, and 10 years ago they were not really considered a player," says analyst Sean McGowan.
