Marriage trends spell trouble for black women's retirement

Retirement security for black women is taking the biggest hit as American marriage rates drop, the General Accountability Office reports. Women cannot claim spousal benefits from Social Security if they have never been married or were married for less than 10 years. The GAO reports that the percentage of ineligible black women aged 50-59 was more than double the rate for all women.
